SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from May 13-19.

13 The third round of league soccer matches begin in the DPRK (North Korea) as part of the Sports Contest for the Pochonbo Torch Prize, with eight male and six female teams competing.

   13 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says the porcelain creative group of the North's Mansudae Art Studio has applied new shapes and patterns to Goryeo celadon, a treasure of the country.

   14 The KCNA says Kim Il-chol was relieved of his post as a member of the National Defense Commission (NDC) and first-vice minister of the People's Armed Forces at the age of 80, according to Decision No. 06 of the NDC issued on May 13.

   15 Delegations of China, Germany, Mongolia, Singapore and Taipei arrive in Pyongyang by air and train to participate in the 13th Pyongyang Spring International Trade Fair.

   15 A spokesman for the foreign ministry denounces the Israeli foreign ministry for recently listing North Korea as part of the "axis of evil."

   16 The KCNA says Kim Jong-il provided field guidance at the construction sites of the Mt. Paektu Songun (military-first) Youth Power Station.

   17 The KCNA says Kim Jong-il gave field guidance to workers in various fields of Samjiyon County, Yanggang Province.

   17 A meeting is held at the Central Hall of Workers in Pyongyang to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the uprising for pro-democracy in Gwangju, South Korea.

   17 The commencement ceremony for the 36th National School Youth and Children's Sports Contest for the Jong-il Peak Prize takes place at the Basketball Gymnasium on Chongchun Street in Pyongyang.

   17 A delegation of the Asia Regional Office of the International Union for Conversation of Nature, headed by Director Aban Marker Kabraji, arrives in Pyongyang by air.

   18 The KCNA says the SPA Presidium on May 17 issued a decision to convene the 3rd session of the 12th SPA, slated for June 7.

   18 The KCNA says an international environment workshop took place in Pyongyang from May 13-18.

   18 A national meeting of officials working in the field of commerce is held in Pyongyang.

   18 A meeting hosted by Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Liu Hongcai is held to hail North Korean leader Kim Jong-il's recent visit to China.

   19 The KCNA says Kim Jong-il gave field guidance to workers at various fields of Hyesan City and Taehongdan County, Ryanggang Province.

   19 The Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea issues an indictment accusing the South of trying to use the sinking of a South Korean naval ship to harm inter-Korean relations.

   19 A film show is held at the Taedong River Diplomatic Corps Club in Pyongyang to mark Bulgaria's day of culture and Slavic characters.

   19 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greetings to Paul Biya, president of Cameroon, on the occasion of the 38th birthday of its republic.
