SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from June 10-16.

10 Representatives of companies from China, Switzerland, Britain and India leave Pyongyang after participating in the Pyongyang International Insurance Seminar.

   10 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says An Kum-ae, a female judoist, grabbed a gold medal in the 52kg category of the World Cup Women's Judo Tournament held in Romania.

   11 A spokesman for the National Defense Commission (NDC) tells the KCNA that "his country will carry out merciless counteractions over South Korea's referral of its ship sinking to the U.N. Security Council as it had already clarified," repeating its demand that Seoul verify its accusations in front of an inspection group from Pyongyang.

   11 The KCNA says South Korea failed in the launch of a satellite, citing South Korea's mass media.

   11 Valery Sukhinin, Russian ambassador to the DPRK (North Korea), gives a reception to mark the national day of Russia.

   11 The fourth round of premier league soccer matches, in which eleven male and eight female teams participated, begin at Kimilsung Studium in Pyongyang.

   12 Kim Yong-nam, chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, sends a congratulatory message to Elizabeth Ⅱ, queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on her official birthday, its national day.

   12 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greetings to Dmitri Anatolievich Medvedev, president of Russia, on its national day.

   12 Kim Yong-nam sends a congratulatory message to Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino upon his election as president of the Philippines.

   12 Premier Choe Yong-rim sends a message of greeting to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, prime minister of Russia, on its national day.

   12 The General Staff of the (North) Korean People's Army (KPA) threatens that the country will destroy South Korean propaganda loudspeakers along its border and may even turn Seoul into a sea of flame in the strongest warning against Seoul's plan to resume anti-Pyongyang broadcasts.

   12 The KCNA says Selected Works of Kim Jong-il Vol. 4 (enlarged edition), comprehensively dealing with works of leader Kim Jong-il, was published by the Workers' Party of (North) Korea (WPK) Publishing House in Pyongyang.
12-13 Talks between the visiting delegation of the DPRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the delegation of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs are held in Cairo.

   14 A national meeting is held at the People's Palace of Culture to mark the 10th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 joint declaration.

   14 A reception is held by the WPK Central Committee for the visiting delegation of the People's Unity Party of Tunisia at Koryo Hotel in Pyongyang.

   14 A national photo exhibition to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration takes place at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang.

   14 The KCNA says a new postage stamp has been issued in the DPRK to mark the 10th anniversary of the publication of the historic June 15 joint declaration between the two Koreas.

   14 An event for World Blood Donor Day takes place in Pyongyang.

   15 The KCNA says North Korean leader Kim Jong-il enjoyed an art performance given by art groups of families of service persons of KPA Units 526, 837, 564, 593, 963, 10215, 762 and Unit 7501 of the (North) Korean People's Internal Security Forces that participated in the third round of the second-term contests among art groups of families of KPA service persons.

   15 Talks between delegations of the WPK and the People's Unity Party of Tunisia are held in Pyongyang.

   15 The parties and organizations of the DPRK release a joint statement on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 joint declaration.

   15 Sin Son-ho, permanent representative of the DPRK at the U.N., calls a press conference in New York in regards to the sinking case of the South Korean warship Cheonan.

   16 Meetings between workers and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of (North) Korea, and youth and students are held in Pyongyang to celebrate the 46th anniversary of leader Kim Jong-il's start of work at the WPK Central Committee.

   16 The KCNA says the Bulgaria-(North) Korea Friendship Association has released the third issue of its bulletin on the occasion of the June 25-July 27 month of anti-U.S. joint struggle.
