SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from June 24-30.

24 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) releases a commentary saying that the U.S. is responsible for the outbreak of the Korean War.

   24 The KCNA says that Pyongyang is reviewing whether to apply "wartime law" on 30-year-old American Aijalon Gomes, citing what it called U.S. hostilities against the socialist country over the sinking of a South Korean warship.

   24 North Korean leader Kim Jong-il congratulates Kang Jong-hwa, a woman residing in Phyongwon County, on her 100th birthday.

   24 Youth delegations from Greece, Namibia, South Africa arrive in Pyongyang to participate in the second international preparatory meeting for the 17th World Festival of Youth and Students and the international solidarity events of youth and students for support to the just cause of the (North) Korean people.

   24 Officials and members of the Democratic Women's Union of (North) Korea hold a meeting in Phyonghwa-ri, Kaesong City, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War.

   24 The 13th National Taekwon-do Championships for Jongil Peak Prize opens with due ceremony at the Taekwon-do Hall in Pyongyang.

   24 Morteza Moradian, Iranian Ambassador to North Korea, and staff members of his embassy visit Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies on the occasion of the week of North Korea-Iran friendship.

   24 A fine arts exhibition opens at the Pyongyang International Cultural Center on the occasion of the June 25-July 27 month of anti-U.S. joint struggle.

   25 Leading North Korean papers carry editorials in connection with the lapse of six decades since the U.S. imperialists provoked the Korean War.

   25 The KCNA releases a memorandum laying out its own account of "how the U.S. imperialists launched the Korean War of aggression, 60 years since they provoked the war to achieve their ambition to dominate the world."

   25 Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), sends a message of greetings to Ivo Josipovic, president of Croatia, on the occasion of its national day.

   25 Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun sends a message of greetings to his Slovenian counterpart Samuel Zbogar on the occasion of the national day of Slovenia.

   25 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greetings to Armando Emilio Guebuza, president of Mozambique, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of its independence.

   25 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of sympathy to Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, president of Brazil, in connection with the heavy rain that hit the Pernambuco and Alagoas states of Brazil for several days.

   25 A 120,000 army-people rally against the U.S. is held at the Kimilsung Square in Pyongyang on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War.

   25 An international meeting of youth and students supporting the cause of North Korea takes place at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang.

   25 Kim Jong-il receives a gift from the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Shandong Provincial People's Government.

   25 The Information Department of the Central Committee of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front (AINDF) makes a public announcement, describing the Korean War as a "brigandish war of aggression" launched by the U.S.

   26 The harvesting of wheat, barley and potato begins in the fields on co-op farms.

   26 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greetings to Ismail Omar Guelleh, president of Djibouti, on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of its independence.

   26 The Publishing House of the Workers' Party of (North) Korea publishes Vol. 89 of "Among the People," a collection of reminiscences on the "great leadership ability and noble traits of late President Kim Il-sung."

   27. Rev. Han Sang-ryeol of South Korea attends service at Chilgol Church. The South Korean pastor made an unauthorized trip to North Korea to attend a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the inter-Korean summit.

   27 The Central Committee of the Kim Il-sung Socialist Youth League hosts a reception at Chongnyon Hotel in Pyongyang in honor of the delegations and delegates of youth and students organizations from different countries and regions of the world.

   28 The KCNA quotes a foreign ministry spokesman as saying, The DPRK (North Korea) will bolster its nuclear arsenal "in a newly developed way" to counter what it calls U.S. hostile policy and military threats toward the communist nation.

   28 The Panmunjom Mission of (North) Korean People's Army (KPA) sends a message of protest to the U.S., slamming the U.S. and South Korea for "introducing various types of heavy weapons" in the area around the Panmunjom.

   28 A delegation of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television of China, headed by Vice Minister Tian Jin, arrives in Pyongyang.

   29 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greetings to Omar Hassan Ahmed al-Bashir, president of Sudan, on the occasion of the 21st day of revolution of Sudan.

   29 Kim Yong-nam meets with Tiago Alexandre Ferraz Vieira, president of the World Federation of Democratic Youth, and delegates of youth and student organizations from different countries at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang.

   29 Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun sends a congratulatory message to Ali Ahmed Karti on June 26 upon his appointment as foreign minister of Sudan.

   29 Russian embassy officials complete friendly work on the DPRK-Russia Friendship Kochang Cooperative Farm in Chollima District, Nampho City.

   29 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greetings to Joseph Kabila Kabange, president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its independence.

   29 The KCNA quotes a Foreign Ministry spokesman as saying, "We (North Korea) vehemently and totally refute the declaration adopted at the G-8 summit held in Canada on June 25 and 26 in which its participants mentioned the DPRK, though indirectly, referring to South Korea's results of investigation into the Cheonan case."

   30 The KCNA says South Korean Rev. Han Sang-ryol meets with agricultural workers of the Migok Co-op Farm in Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province.

   30 An inter-provincial sports contest, which opened on June 15, closed with due ceremony at the Haeju Stadium located in South Hwanghae Province.

   30 A ceremony is held to mark the completion of a reclamation of the Taegyedo Tideland on the northern tip of its west coast.

   30 Premier Choe Yong-rim sends a congratulatory message to Mari Kiviniemi upon her appointment as prime minister of Finland.
