SEOUL, Jan. 11 (Yonhap) -- North Korea's new leader Kim Jong-un inspected construction sites in Pyongyang on Wednesday, its state media said, as he moved to strengthen his control over the communist country inherited from his father.

"The Supreme Leader of the (North) Korean People's Army and leader of our party, state and military Kim Jong-un, our comrade, conducted inspections over several construction sites, including the Pyongyang folk park and a butcher shop," the North's Korean Central News Agency said in a report.
