SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from May 10-16, 2012.

10 Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), leaves Pyongyang to pay an official goodwill visit to Indonesia. He will also visit Singapore.

   10 Premier Choe Yong-rim visits Ryangchaek Bearing Factory to review its work.

   10 An agreement on jointly building, managing and preserving the Manpho-Jian border bridge between the DPRK (North Korea) and China is signed in Pyongyang.

   10 The second national sports software exhibition opens with due ceremony at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium.

   10 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says the 15th Pyongyang Spring International Trade Fair will take place at the Three-Revolution Exhibition in Pyongyang from May 14 to 17.

   10 Premier Choe Yong-rim sends a congratulatory message to Fayez Tarawneh upon his appointment as prime minister of the Hashemite kingdom of Jordan.

   11 The KCNA says Kim Yong-nam has arrived in Singapore to holds talks with Tony Tan Keng Yam, the president of Singapore, at the presidential Palace.

   11 The KCNA says a military delegation headed by Vice Marshal Ri Yong-ho, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Workers' Party of (North) Korea (WPK), has left Vietiane after visiting Laos.

   11 The KCNA says Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun on May 9 referred to the increased role of the Non-Aligned Movement at the ministerial meeting of non-aligned countries in Egypt.

   13 The KCNA says Kim Yong-nam has arrived in Jakarta to pay an official goodwill visit to Indonesia at the invitation of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

   13-14 The first national symposium on educational science takes place in Pyongyang.

   14 Kim Yong-il, an alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, meets with the visiting delegation of the Lao Women's Union headed by its president Sysay Leudedmounsone.

   14 The opening ceremony of the 15th Pyongyang Spring International Trade Fair takes place at the Three-Revolution Exhibition.

   14 A friendship delegation from the China Association for International Friendly Contact headed by its President Li Zhaoxing leaves Pyongyang after wrapping up a five-day visit.

   15 The KCNA says Kim Jong-un on May 2 received a congratulatory message from Raul Castro Ruz, president of the Council of State and president of the Council of Ministers of Cuba.

   15 Kim Yong-nam holds talks with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the presidential palace in Jakarta. In the meeting he invites Yudhoyono to visit his country.

   15 Choe Ryong-hae learns about the progress made in the construction of the Pyongyang Folk Park in the final stage.

   15 Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun returns home after taking part in the Non-Alignment Movement ministerial meeting in Cairo, Egypt.

   15 Cho Yong-rim learns about the work at the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex during a spot inspection.

   16 The KCNA says Kim Yong-nam left Jakarta after wrapping up his official goodwill visit to Indonesia.

   16 A ceremony is held to mark the completion of the second-phase project for Kwaksan Tideland reclamation and setups in the reclaimed Taegyedo Tideland, with Premier Choe Yong-rim and Vice Premier Ro Tu-chol attending.

   16 The 38th National Sports Contest of School Youth and Children for Jongil Peak Prize is opened.
