SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from May 24-30, 2012.

24 Premier Choe Yong-rim acquaints himself with the renovation and repair project at its final phase at Kim Hyong-jik University of Education.

   24 Pak Ui-chun, foreign minister, separately meets with Manibadrakh Ganbold, new Mongolian ambassador, and Roberto Colin, new Brazilian ambassador to DPRK (North Korea), who paid courtesy calls on him.

   24 Kent Harstedt, a lawmaker from the Social Democratic Party of Sweden, leaves Pyongyang, wrapping up his four-day visit.

   24 Iranian film week is opened with due ceremony at Taedongmun Cinema to mark the 23rd anniversary of the meeting between Kim Il-sung and Iranian leader Seyed Ali Khamenei.

   25 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un provided field guidance on the construction of the Ryugyong Health Complex and People's Outdoor Ice Rink and the Changjon Street as they near completion.

   25 The KCNA says Kim Jong-un visits the Kaeson Youth Park Funfair to learn about its management and operation.

   25 Premier Choe Yong-rim learns about farming in Yonan and Paechon counties of South Hwanghae Province.

   25 A friendship delegation led by An Kuk-thae, chairman of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee, leaves Pyongyang to visit the Amur Region of Russia.

   25 The KCNA says, "West coastal areas of the DPRK experience a long spell of dry weather. This is an abnormal phenomenon witnessed in the country in fifty years."

   26 Kim Jong-un sends a congratulatory message to Dmitri Medvedev on his election as president of the United Russia Party.

   26 Premier Choe Yong-rim visits the Saenal Farm in Sinchon County and the Oguk Co-op Farm in Anak county in South Hwanghae Province to conduct field surveys of their farming.

   26 The KCNA says Congjin University of Medicine of North Hamgyong Province has completed an online health service system for the province.

   27 The KCNA says Kim Jong-un provided field guidance to the Central Zoo in Pyongyang.

   28 The delegation of the Football Association led by Vice Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Kim Jong-su comes back home after taking part in the 62nd Conference of FIFA in Budapest, Hungary.

   28 The KCNA says remains of the late So Man-sul, former chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the (pro-Pyongyang) General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), were buried in the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery on the outskirts of Pyongyang.

   28 A delegation of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce of China led by Vice Minister Fu Shuangjian arrives in Pyongyang.

   29 Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun meets with Arif Mahmood, Pakistani ambassador to the DPRK, who paid a farewell call on him.

   29 A MOU on cooperation was signed in Pyongyang between the Office for Trademark, Industrial Design and Products Origin of the DPRK and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce of China.

   30 The KCNA says Kim Jong-un provided field guidance to Changjin Primary School, Kyongsang Nursery and the newly built Kyongsang Kindergarten in Changjin Street in Pyongyang.

   30 Premier Choe Yong-rim visits the Sunchon Chemical Complex to make a field survey of its work.

   30 Choe Ryong-hae, a member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of (North) Korea (WPK) and director of the General Political Bureau of the (North) Korean People's Army, makes a field survey of the Sporting Center in Thongil Street in Pyongyang.

   30 The KCNA says the Taedong River Shellfish Farm on the west coast of the North went operational with due ceremony.

   30 A Russian financial and economic delegation, headed by Vice Minister of Finance Sergey Storchak, arrives in Pyongyang.
