SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from June 7-13, 2012.

7 Choe Thae-bok, chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), talks with Johannes Plug, a member of the Bundestag "Federal Parliament" of Germany from the Social-Democratic Party, who paid a courtesy call on him at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang.

   7 Kim Jun-gap is appointed as ambassador to Guinea according to a decree of the Presidium of the SPA.

   7 A delegation of the Journalists Union of (North) Korea led by Song Rak-gyun, editor-in-chief of the Pyongyang Sinmun, returns home after visiting China.

   8 Talks between the delegations of the workers' Party of (North) Korea (WPK) and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) take place in Vientiane, Laos. An agreement on cooperation and exchange of delegations is signed between WPK and the LPRP.

   8 A friendship delegation headed by An Kuk-thae, chairman of the South Phyongan Provincial People's Committee, returns home after visiting the Amur Region of Russia.

   9 A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry says North Korea has no immediate plan to conduct a third nuclear test.

   9 A delegation of the Red Cross Society led by Vice Chairman of its Central Committee Paek Yong-ho leaves Pyongyang to visit Iran.

   9 John Daniszewski, vice president of the Associated Press of the U.S., departs Pyongyang for home.

   10 Premier Choe Yong-rim visits Namhung Youth Chemical Complex to learn in detail about its production.

   10 The Songun Torch Prize Sports Contest opens with due ceremony in Haeju City, South Hwanghae Province.

   11 The 15th National Taekwondo Championship for Jongilbong Prize opens with due ceremony at the Taekwondo Hall in Pyongyang.

   11 Talks between delegations of the WPK and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) take place in Hanoi.

   12 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made public his treatise titled "The Great Comrade Kim Il-sung Is the Eternal Leader of Our Party and People" on April 20.

   12 Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the SPA, receives credentials from Tseggai Tesfazion, Eritrean ambassador to the DPRK (North Korea), at the Mansudae Assembly Hall.

   12 Choe Ryong-hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and director of the General Political Bureau of the (North) Korean People's Army (KPA), visits the Mangyongdae Funfair and the Taesongsan Funfair to learn about the progress made in the projects for renovating the funfairs.

   12 The Pyongyang International Insurance Seminar opens at the Yanggakdo International Hotel under the joint sponsorship of the (North) Korean National Insurance Corporation and the Federation of Afro-Asian Insurers and Reinsurers.

   12 German Hermin Ferras Alvarez, Cuban ambassador to the DPRK, and his embassy officials give a helping hand to farmers at the DPRK-Cuba Friendship Hwasong Greenhouse Farm in Ryongsong District, Pyongyang.

   12 The KCNA says DPRK player Kim Song-i placed first in women's singles of the 2012 ITTF Euro-Africa Circuit, Swedish Open.

   12 The KCNA says that the western coastal area of the DPRK has been seriously affected by lingering drought starting in late April.

   13 Kim Jong-un receives a letter of thanks from participants in the Pyongyang International Insurance Seminar.

   13 A delegation of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea led by the vice chairperson of its Central Committee, Kye Hui-nam, leaves Pyongyang to visit China.

   13 The Pyongyang International Insurance Seminar is closed with a ceremony at Yanggakdo International Hotel.
