SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from July 19-25, 2012.

19 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says heavy rain hit North and South Hwanghae provinces of North Korea.

   19 A conference of the Democratic Women's Union of (North) Korea (DWUK) takes place in Pyongyang, with the participation of Kim Ki-nam, the secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of (North) Korea.

   19 A ceremony is held at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang to award state academics degrees and titles to those who achieved success in education and scientific research.

   19 The KCNA says North Korean students won two gold medals at the 53rd International Math Olympiad (IMO) held in Argentina.

   19 A meeting of Pyongyang citizens is held at Pyongyang Indoor Stadium to mark North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's conferment of the title of marshal with high-ranking officials from the party, the government and the military, including Kim Yong-nam, the president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), in attendance.

   19 A dancing party of youth and students takes place at the gymnasiums of Kimilsung University, Kimchaek University of Technology and the Central Youth Hall in Pyongyang in celebration of awarding the title of marshal to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

   20 North Korean Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun meets with a Thai foreign ministry delegation led by Deputy Permanent Secretary Nuttavudh Photisaro at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang.

   20 North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sends a message of greeting to the participants in the meeting of officials of chapters of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

   20 A Thai foreign ministry delegation led by Deputy Permanent Secretary Nuttavudh Photisaro leaves Pyongyang, ending its visit to North Korea.

   20 The KCNA says the downpour, triggered by the typhoon-7, seriously hit Kangwon and South Hwanghae provinces of North Korea, causing big human and material losses.

   20 The (North) Korean People's Army (KPA) Song and Dance Ensemble gives a performance at the April 25 House of Culture in Pyongyang to celebrate Kim Jong-un's conferment of marshalship.

   21 A delegation of the North Korean Olympic Committee led by Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Pak Myong-chol leaves Pyongyang to take part in the 30th London Olympics.

   21 North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sends a wreath to the bier of the late Sol Myung-sun who was a composer of the KPA Song and Dance Ensemble.

   21 Meetings were held in South Phyongan and Jagang Provinces of North Korea to mark North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on his holding the marshalship.

   22 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greeting to Muhammad Morsi, the president of Egypt, on the 60th anniversary of the national holiday of Egypt.

   22 Meetings are held in the provinces of North Phyongan, South Hamgyong and Kangwon, and Nampho City to mark North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on his holding the marshalship.

   23 The KCNA says grand celebrations are to be held in Pyongyang to commemorate the 59th anniversary of conclusion of an armistice agreement of the 1950-53 Korean War.

   23 The KCNA says downpours hit the northern part of North Korea.

   23 A national exhibition of 206 kinds of goods for daily use opens at the Pyongyang Railway Station Department Store.

   23 The KCNA says the Pyongyang Children's Department Store built on Changjon St. opened on July 19.

   23 The KCNA says towers bearing an inscription, "The great Comrade Kim Il-sung and Comrade Kim Jong-il will always be with us," were splendidly erected across North Korea.

   23 Meetings take place in South and North Hwanghae and Ryanggang provinces and at the Ministry of Railways to mark North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on his holding the marshalship.

   23 Premier Choe Yong-rim inspects the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex in Anju, South Phyongan Province and two farms: the Oryu Vegetable Co-op Farm in Sadong District, Pyongyang, and the Taechon Farm in Rinsan County, North Hwanghae Province.

   24 A delegation of the Ministry of People's Security headed by Minister Ri Myong-su leaves Pyongyang to visit China.

   24 The KCNA says the recent flood has heavily affected collieries in the east coastal areas of North Korea and has brought major damage to railway service of the country.

   24 Choe Ryong-hae, a member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, visits the construction site of the Pyongyang Folk Park nearing its completion.

   24 A North Korean film delegation returns home after participating in the preview of the North Korea-China jointly produced film "Promise in Pyongyang," held in China.

   24 A friendship delegation led by Ri Kil-chun, the chairman of the Nampho City People's Committee, returns home after visiting China.

   24 A delegation of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union headed by President Kim In-gyu arrives in Pyongyang.

   24 Talks between delegations of the North Korea's Ministry of People's Security and the Ministry of Public Security of China are held in Beijing.

   24 Kim Jong-un visits the Rungna People's Pleasure Ground just before the start of operation.

   25 An opening ceremony for the recently-built Rungna People's Pleasure Ground is held on Rungna Islet of the Taedong River in Pyongyang, with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in attendance.

   25 The (North) Korean Central TV Broadcasting Station identifies the woman seen accompanying Kim Jong-un in a recent series of public appearances as his wife, Ri Sol-ju, confirming their marriage for the first time.

   25 An oratorical meeting of youth and students is held at the Youth Park Open-air Theatre in Pyongyang to mark the 59th anniversary of conclusion of an armistice agreement of the 1950-53 Korean War.

   25 A ceremony is held at the Kyongam Cement Factory to celebrate the plant's operation.
