SEOUL, Aug. 21 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's chief nuclear envoy has been briefed by his Japanese counterpart on Japan's forthcoming bilateral governmental talks with North Korea set for next week, a Seoul official said Tuesday.

Lim Sung-nam, Seoul's top envoy to six-party talks aimed at ending North Korea's nuclear weapons ambition, and his Japanese counterpart, Shinsuke Sugiyama, discussed the agenda of the pending Pyongyang-Tokyo talks during a phone call earlier in the day, said the foreign ministry official.
