SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from Sept. 6-12, 2012.

6 Military delegations from the (North) Korean People's Army (KPA) and the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces hold talks in Pyongyang.

   6 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reports a national farm machine exhibition and a meeting of inventors took place in Sukchon County, South Phyongan Province, over three days starting Sept. 4.

   6 North Korean Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun meets Pratap Singh, Indian ambassador to the DPRK (North Korea), who paid a farewell visit to Pak.

   6 The Central Committee of the Workers' Party of (North) Korea (WPK) hosts a reception in honor of Osvaldo Napoli, vice president of the Parliamentary Group of the Popular Liberty of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy, at the Koryo Hotel in Pyongyang.

   6 An event to observe World First Aid Day is held at the Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1.

   7 The KCNA says a Korean book and photo exhibition was held in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, China, on Aug. 30 on the occasion of the first anniversary of Kim Jong-il's visit to the Northeastern region of China.

   7 Rodong Sinmun claims improvement of inter-Korean relations is impossible unless the (South Korean President) Lee Myung-bak regime is ousted.

   7 A dancing party of women's union members takes place at the plaza of the Arch of Triumph in Pyongyang on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the foundation of the DPRK (North Korea).

   7 The 14th national exhibition of scientific and technological achievements in public health opens with due ceremony in the Hall of New Technology and Innovation of the Three Revolution Exhibition in Pyongyang.

   7 A mosaic depicting Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il is erected in Thongil Street in Pyongyang.

   7 The Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) confers a National Reunification Prize upon the late Moon Sun-myung, president of the World Peace Federation.

   8 North Korean leader Kim Jong-un receives a congratulatory message from Chinese President Hu Jin-tao on the 64th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK.

   8 A national meeting is held at the April 25 House of Culture to celebrate the 64th birthday of the DPRK with senior party, state and army officials, including Kim Yong-nam, President of the SPA Presidium, and Premier Choe Yong-rim, attending.

   8 People's Armed Forces Minister Kim Jong-gak meets in Pyongyang with the Cuban military delegation of the Revolutionary Armed Forces led by its Vice-Minister Joaquin Quintas Sola.

   9 Foreign delegations and delegates arrive in Pyongyang to take part in the 8th Pyongyang international scientific and technological book exhibition.

   9 North Korea holds a banquet at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang to mark the 64th anniversary of the DPRK with senior party, state and army officials attending.

   9 Kim Jong-un enjoys a performance given by the KPA Song and Dance Ensemble, on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK.

   9 North Korea holds a Korean book exhibition in Beijing to celebrate the 64th anniversary of its foundation.

   10 Kim Un-hwa, North Korea's top scorer at the 2012 U-20 Women's World Cup, receives a gold boot at the 2012 U-20 Women's World Cup.

   10 Kim Yong-Nam, president of the SPA Presidium, meets with a visiting military delegation from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba.

   10 The 8th Pyongyang International Science and Technology Book Fair opens with due ceremony at the Grand People's Study House in Pyongyang.

   10 A ceremony to inaugurate the Pengnian Light Action charity in the DPRK takes place at the Pyongyang Ophthalmology Hospital.

   10 A ceremony is held for the donation of educational equipment sent by Beijing Foreign Languages University of China (BFLU) to Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies (PUFS).

   11 The KCNA reports a new kind of bio-active solution, made of mammalian bones, was developed in the DPRK.

   11 Premier Choe Yong-rim calls for united efforts to recover from flood damage in Komdok area while visiting the flood-stricken area where recovery operations were under way.

   11 Minju Joson blasts Japanese reactionaries' claim to Tok Islets (Dokdo), saying new data of the modern history of Japan proving Tok Islets do not belong to Japan were disclosed recently.

   11 Construction of Pyongyang Folk Park is completed in the area of Mt. Taesong with Premier Choe Yong-rim and other North Korean dignitaries attending. (Yonhap News)
12 North Korea refuses to accept South Korea's flood relief aid as the two countries failed to nail down what types of aid items should be given.

   12 The 8th Pyongyang International Science and Technology Book Fair closes with due ceremony at the Grand People's Study House.

   12 The KCNA denounces South Korean military's "basic plan for defense reform" as a "grave provocative act of inciting extreme hostility toward the DPRK."

   12 The KCNA says the KPA command threatened it would "turn the West Sea of Korea into the final grave of the provokers if the South Korean warmongers made a reckless military provocation."

   12 The KCNA says it rained 776 mm in the DPRK this summer, 83 percent of its average annual precipitation, according to the Hydro-meteorological Service.
