SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from November 22-28, 2012.

22 A spokesman for the Southwestern Front Command of the (North) Korea People's Army (KPA) warns of a second Yonphong (Yeonpyeong) island shelling.

   22 Premier Choe Yong-rim sends a greeting to Najeeb Mikati, prime minister of Lebanon, on the occasion of the country's 69th anniversary of its independence.

   22 Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun meets with the delegation of the Foreign Ministry of Nepal led by secretary Durga Prasad Bhattarai.

   22 The delegation of the Workers' Party of (North) Korea (WPK) led by Ri Yong-su, department director of its Central Committee, departs Pyongyang for Namibia to take part in the 5th national congress of the South West Africa People's Organization of Namibia.

   22 Yang Hyong-sop, vice president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), meets with the delegation of the Nepali Foreign Ministry led by its secretary Durga Prasad Bhattaraiat at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang.

   22 The Strategic Plan 2016 of the Red Cross Society is adopted at its congress at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang.

   23 An exhibition and presentation of sci-tech achievements to mark the 60th birthday of the State Academy of Sciences (Dec. 1) takes place over two days starting Nov. 20.

   23 Mosaics portraying a smiling President Kim Il-sung and leader Kim Jong-il are erected in Sonchon, Ryongchon, Kwaksan, Taegwan and Uiju Counties, North Phyongan Province.

   23 A joint meeting of (North Korean) service personnel and people takes place at Phyonghwa Seaside Culture Farm of South Hwanghae Province near Yonphyong (Yeonpyeong) Island to mark the anniversary of North Korea's shelling of the South Korean island.

   23 A national meeting of chiefs of branch social security stations is held at the April 25 House of Culture in Pyongyang.

   24 Choe Thae-bok, chairman of the SPA, and his party return home after visiting Mongolia.

   24 A WPK delegation led by the vice department director of its Central Committee, Pak Kun-gwang, leaves Pyongyang to visit Malaysia to participate in the congress of the United Malays National Organization of Malaysia.

   24 The DPRK Cabinet gives a reception at Okryu Restaurant in honor of players who proved successful at the Fifth Asian Gymnastics Championship and the 2012 Asian Youth and Juvenile Weightlifting Championship.

   25 Kim Yong-nam, president of the SPA Presidium, sends a message to the president of Suriname, Desire Delano Bouterse, of congratulations on the country's 37th independence day.

   25 A delegation of the General Federation of Trade Unions of (North) Korea headed by the chairman of its Central Committee, Hyon Sang-ju, returns home after visiting China.

   26 Kim Yong-il, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, talks with Mansour Chavoshi, the new Iranian ambassador to the DPRK, who paid a courtesy call on him.

   26 North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has a photo session with participants in a national meeting of chiefs of branch social security stations.

   26 A serial book, "Son of Mt. Paektu" (Part 4) is released by the WPK Publishing House.

   26 A national meeting of active judges and prosecutors takes place at the People's Palace of Culture.

   26 Kim Jong-un sends a letter titled "On Bringing About a New Turn in the Judicial and Procuratorial Work as Required by the Developing Revolution" to the participants in the national meeting of active judges and prosecutors.

   26 Premier Choe Yong-rim sends a congratulatory message to Abdi Farah Shirdon Said upon his appointment as prime minister of Somalia.

   26 Premier Choe Yong-rim sends a congratulatory message to Ali Zidan upon his election as prime minister of the Libyan interim government.

   27 An agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of People's Security of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and the Ministry of Justice of Mongolia is signed in Pyongyang.

   27 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greeting to Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, president of Mauritania, on the occasion of the 52nd independence day of the country.

   27 Talks between Ri Myong-su, minister of People's Security, and Temuujin Khishigdemberel, Mongolia's minister of Justice, takes place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall.

   28 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says the Kim Hyong-jik University of Education has developed a lot of software applications and applied them to education.

   28 Kim Yong-nam has a friendly talk with the Mongolian delegation of the Ministry of Justice headed by Minister Temuujin Khishigdemberel, which paid a courtesy call on him at the Mansudae Assembly Hall.

   28 A delegation of the Korean Social Scientists Association in Japan led by Chairperson Kim Hwa-hyo arrives in Pyongyang to participate in the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the Academy of Social Sciences.

   28 A spokesman of the Foreign Ministry strongly resists the U.N. resolution against North Korea's human rights, which was adopted on Nov. 27 in the Third Committee of the 193-member U.N. General Assembly, calling it a "politically motivated" one.

   28 The KCNA says that scientists, technicians and workers of the DPRK are positively conducive to building economic power by vividly waging scientific research work and popular technical innovation.
