SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from June 6-12, 2013.

6 North Korea proposes talks between authorities of the two Koreas for the normalization of the Kaesong Industrial Complex and the resumption of tours of Mt. Kumgang in a special statement by the spokesman for the North's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea (CPRK).

6 North Korea proposes working-level inter-Korean talks be held in Kaesong on June 9 in preparation for the ministerial dialogue offered by Seoul.

6 Premier Pak Pong-ju makes a field survey of the Mirim Riding Club, the construction of which is now under way by the (North) Korean People's Army (KPA).

6 A delegation of the Ministry of Railways headed by Minister Jon Kil-su leaves Pyongyang to attend the 41st Ministerial Meeting of the Organization of Railways Cooperation in Estonia.

6 Karl-Olof Andersson, the Swedish ambassador to the DPRK (North Korea), gives a reception at his embassy to mark the national day of Sweden.

6 Rodong Sinmun denounces South Korean and U.S. defense chiefs for blustering at their recent talks in Singapore that "They will never allow provocations and threats from the North" and "This entails isolating them," slandering the DPRK.

6 The 7th Congress of the (North) Korean Children's Union is held at the April 25 House of Culture in Pyongyang with the attendance of Kim Jong-un. Kim had a photo session with the delegates.

7 Kim Yong-nam, the president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), goes round the construction site of the Masik Pass Skiing Ground.

7 The spokesman for the CPRK says North Korea appreciates South Korea's "prompt and positive response to the proposal made by the DPRK on holding talks between the authorities of the North and the South," and proposes holding working contracts in Kaesong on June 9.

7 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says Premier Pak Pong-ju sent a congratulatory message to Plamen Oresharski on June 5 upon his appointment as prime minister of Bulgaria.

7 A performance of the national art festival of school children was given at the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace to commemorate the 67th anniversary of the (North) Korean Children's Union.

7 The 50th National Games of Juvenile Sports Schools are closed with due ceremony in Hungnam City.

8 Rodong Sinmun urges the United States to drop its hostile policy toward the DPRK and cancel all plans for military exercises.

8 Rodong Sinmun says the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration serve as a key to solving the issue of the inter-Korean relations.

8 The KCNA says Kim Yong-nam sent a congratulatory message to British Queen Elizabeth II on June 1 on the occasion of her official birthday, a national holiday of the United Kingdom.

8 The KCNA says Kim Yong-nam on June 4 sent a message of greeting to Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, the president of Equatorial Guinea, on the occasion of his 71st birthday.

9 The KCNA says Premier Pak Pong-ju sent a congratulatory message to Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif upon his assumption of office as prime minister of Pakistan.

9 Premier Pak Pong-ju makes a field survey of key factories and enterprises in the Hamhung area with a drive for increased production in accordance with an appeal made by Kim Jong-un.

9 Kim Jong-un sends gifts to the participants of the 7th Congress of the Korean Children's Union during a ceremony at the April 25 House of Culture.

9 The KCNA says Kim Yong-nam went round the construction site of the Masik Pass Skiing Ground on June 7.

10 Kim Jong-un visits the Pyongyang International Football School and Rungna People's Sports Park.

10 Kim Yong-nam makes a field survey of the Sepho Tableland in Kangwon Province.

10 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greeting to Anibal Cavaco Silva, the president of the Portuguese Republic, on its national day.

10 The KCNA says North Korea's State Stamp Bureau recently issued a sheetlet carrying pictures of leader Kim Jong-il meeting with Chinese leaders.

10 The KCNA says working-level contact for the talks between authorities of the north and the south of Korea was made at Panmunjom on June 9 and 10.

10 Kim Jong-un orders to confer the military rank of general upon Choe Pu-il, the minister of People's Security.

11 Service personnel of the KPA start a study tour of major battle and revolutionary sites on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

11 Rodong Sinmun calls for solidarity and alliance of Koreans for national reunification.

11 The KCNA denounces in a commentary the Japanese defense minister's remarks at a recent Asian security meeting as rhetoric to justify the moves to militarize Japan, which have entered a full-fledge stage.

11 Premier Pak Pong-ju makes field surveys of the Toksong Mine and the Kumya Youth Coal Mine in South Hamgyong Province.

12 Kim Jong-un sends a message of greeting to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the president of the Russian Federation, on its national day.

12 Rodong Sinmun says creating an atmosphere of dialogue is an issue which should be solved before anything else for improving the inter-Korean ties.

12 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greeting to Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino, president of the Republic of Philippines, on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of its independence.

12 Cuban Ambassador to North Korea German Hermin Ferras Alvarez and staff members of his embassy do friendly labor at the DPRK-Cuba Friendship Hwasong Greenhouse Vegetable Farm.

12 North Korea's armed forces and power bodies, ministries and national institutions send wreaths to the Indonesian embassy in Pyongyang expressing condolences over the death of Taufiq Kiemas, former speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly of Indonesia.
