Korean War veteran aid group hails release of Newman from N. Korea

WASHINGTON, Dec. 10 (Yonhap) -- A Washington-based group working to help descendants of Korean War veterans on Tuesday welcomed the release of Merrill Newman after a six-week detention in North Korea.
"We join with his family and friends, who greeted him with yellow ribbons and applause, in celebrating his homecoming," the Descendants of Korean War Foundation (DKWF) said in a statement.
