N. Korean leader voices gratitude to hospital workers
SEOUL, Dec. 11 (Yonhap) -- North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has sent a thank-you message to hospital officials in Pyongyang for treating soldiers, the North's state-run radio reported Wednesday.
It marks the first public activity of Kim following the dramatic downfall of his uncle Jang Song-thaek, who had long been considered the North's No. 2 man and Kim's mentor.
The radio broadcast said six soldiers had been treated at the hospital affiliated with Kim Il-sung University for about seven months as it underscored the superiority of the country's health system.
