5.6 magnitude artificial quake detected in northern N. Korea: Seoul

SEOUL, Sept. 3 (Yonhap) -- A magnitude 5.6 earthquake was detected in northern North Korea on Sunday, South Korea's weather agency said, in an indication of Pyongyang's sixth nuclear test.

An artificial quake was detected at 12:36 p.m. in areas in the North Hamgyeong Province, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA).

South Korea's presidential office said that North Korea may have conducted its sixth nuclear test.
