S. Koreans infected with HIV reach 4,686 in June

   SEOUL, Aug. 26 (Yonhap) -- The number of South Koreans infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) totaled 4,686 as of late June, up by 394 cases in the first half, the government said Tuesday.

The Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs said the total number of HIV infections that can lead to acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) and death, does not include the 1,031 people that have died so far of the disease.
