Yonhap releases iPhone apps to browse news in English
SEOUL, Jan. 11 (Yonhap) -- Yonhap News Agency said Monday it will launch a free news reader for Apple Inc.'s iPhone to provide content in English, Japanese and Chinese.
Yonhap launched on Saturday a free application for the iPhone that allows users to browse English news published by Yonhap. The applications can be downloaded via the iTunes store for iPhone users.
Yonhap also plans to release apps for its Japanese and Chinese news services within the month, it said.
The new apps allow readers to have 24-hour access to real-time wire news, the company said. It also offers a photo service and a search function for articles up to three days old.
Yonhap is a leading media organization in South Korea that has built a global news-gathering network with more than 40 correspondents abroad -- the largest worldwide team for a South Korean media company.
