S. Korea to develop plant virus detection kits by 2012

SEOUL, March 9 (Yonhap) -- South Korea plans to develop 11 types of plant virus detection kits by 2012 as part of ongoing efforts to reduce vegetable crop losses, a government agency said Tuesday.

The Rural Development Administration (RDA) said it hopes the development will trim damages caused by viral infections from 30 percent of all vegetables planted in the country at present to around 10 percent.
