KT Corp. to support iPhone tethering in S. Korea
By Lee Youkyung SEOUL, March 11 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's iPhone users will soon be able to use their phones as a modem to access wireless Internet from other devices, such as laptop computers, KT Corp., the local operator of the iPhone, said Thursday.
The service, called "tethering," will be available to KT's smartphone subscribers starting in April under its new mobile broadband plan, the company said. South Korea's dominant fixed-line operator and No. 2 mobile carrier has sold more than 450,000 units of the iPhone and Show Omnia, which are capable of tethering to other devices, as of February.
