Gov't to probe into companies after ID leakage

SEOUL, March 12 (Yonhap) -- The government said Friday it will inspect the personal data management and security systems of companies, including the country's top retailer Shinsegae Co., on the heels of the country's largest security breach case that leaked over 20 million customers' private data.
The Ministry of Public Administration and Security said it will conduct the investigation into the 25 local companies whose customers' private data were leaked to Chinese hackers. The probe will look into whether the companies protected the private data of customers with security codes.
