S. Korean swimmer Lee In-kook disqualified at London ParalympicsLONDON, Sept. 1 (Yonhap) -- South Korean swimmer Lee In-kook was disqualified from the men's 100-meter backstroke S14 final on Friday at the London Paralympics.
The London Organizing Committee of the Paralympic Games said Lee was disqualified for being late to the Aquatics Center.
He arrived at the pool 17 minutes before the start of race, three minutes behind the time set by the International Paralympic Committee's swimming rules and regulations.
Marc Evers of the Netherlands won a gold medal in the race by setting a new world record time of 1:01.85.
South Korea has so far won a gold and bronze medal each in shooting, ranking 19th in the medal standings at the London Paralympics.
South Korea grabbed 10 gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics.
